Since 2017, Mark Wheatley has served as the building administrator at Helen Davis State School, one of the 34 Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education State Operated Schools serving students with significant physical and cognitive disabilities. Prior to that, he held several positions in education; he served as an adaptive physical education teacher at Helen Davis and Verelle Peniston Schools, a health and physical education teacher, an administrative intern, and an elementary school principal in the St. Joseph School District.
Mark earned his bachelor’s in health and physical education from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Ok, his masters in Educational Leadership-Elementary School Administration from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Mo, and his Ed.S. in Educational Administration with an emphasis in the Superintendency from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, Mo. He is currently working toward his Ed.D. in Educational Practice from the University of Missouri, St. Louis, Mo.
