For a number of years NASDSE maintained a Blind Education Initiative that conducted seminars addressing educational services for students with visual impairments. The training modules, "Improving Education Services for Students with Visual Impairments: What Every Stakeholder Needs to Know," were originally funded by grants from the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP). When that funding ran out, NASDSE continued to support the project for as long as we could with fees collected from states that purchased the training.
This project is no longer active. However, states interested in purchasing training should contact NASDSE’s executive director, who may be able to assist a state in arranging for consultants to conduct the training.
