On November 14, 2007, NASDSE wrote to all members of the House of Representatives urging them to vote to override a threatened presidential veto of H.R. 3043, the Labor/HHS/Education FY 08 Appropriations bill (PDF).

On December 11, 2007, NASDSE wrote the following letter to the Senate urging the members to vote in favor of the Omnibus appropriations measure that contained all remaining appropriations bills, including the one for Labor/HHS/Education (PDF).

On December 11, 2007, NASDSE wrote the following letter to the House urging the members to vote in favor of the Omnibus appropriations measure that contained all remaining appropriations bills, including the one for Labor/HHS/Education (PDF).

On December 18th, 2007, Congress passed and presented to the president the Omnibus Fiscal Year 2008 Appropriations bill that includes all of the outstanding appropriations bills, including the Labor/HHS/Education bill. The omnibus bill appropriates $144.8 billion for programs covered by the Labor/HHS/Education appropriations bill.

On December 26, 2007, President Bush signed H.R 2764, “The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2008” into law. NASDSE prepared a document highlighting some key educational appropriations in the bill.
